As part of the gallery’s 25th Anniversary fundraising project, Dharma Strasser MacColl has created 25 unique sculptures that will be released in tandem with her exhibition. 2022 also marks 25 years since receiving her MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art and this series relates directly to her MFA thesis show that featured her first large installation of vessel forms and objects. As with her current ceramic works, these sculptures are hand formed of porcelain and infused with mason stains and fired. Titled Haru, the Japanese word for Spring, the pieces reference both floral abundance and also a sense of community in her gathering of individual forms, each with a distinct personality, shape and color. Continuing our support of reproductive freedom, sale proceeds from the Haru release will be donated to Planned Parenthood.
As an artist who has been with the gallery from its founding, Amy Kaufman kicks off our fundraising project for 2022. With a nod to our 25 years, she has created a series of 25 unique ink and conté drawings. Each work features a two panel background of varying shades of blue, which is overlaid with webs of meandering lines to suggest abstracted space and movement, a hallmark of her practice. Sale proceeds from this series will be shared with the artists; the gallery will donate their share to Planned Parenthood, in support of their work at this especially critical time.
Meditation Artifacts, a watercolor series by Danielle Lawrence.
50% of the sale proceeds from this series will be donated to the following organizations that work for change and justice in our communities: No Kid Hungry, Black Mamas Matter, Save Lyon Martin, Navajo & Hopi COVID-19 Relief Fund.
